The Team Behind Parents Uncorked

Jeff, the creative energy behind Parents Uncorked

Jeff has been working in the internet marketing industry for over 25 years. He’s a brilliant web designer, always seeking to improve the user experience, and he’s incredibly knowledgable when it comes to internet marketing. He’s the brainchild of the entire Parents Uncorked project, the master video editor, and the one whacky enough to convince me to do this entire thing in the first place (that really is saying something). He’s worked in a variety of industries over the years, but has spent the most time with clients in the hospitality industry. He has a passion for working for himself, and seeks to be the best at everything he does.

If there’s one thing to know about my husband, it’s that he’s a consummate consumer of all things media & technology. He loves it. I’m something of the opposite.  He’s also always dreaming and thinking big. It’s part of what’s made him so successful at business, and truly part of what I love so much about him. So far, his big dreams have taken us to some pretty amazing places, so I’m willing to trust him on this, and see where it takes us.

He’s also an avid outdoorsman (duh, we live in the Pacific Northwest!), and would spend the remainder of his days playing cribbage (or maybe hearts) and traveling the world if I let him (someone has to keep the family budget in check).

Emily, the witty brains behind Parents Uncorked

I’m Emily, the brains, the writer, the sarcasm, and the general wizard behind the blog of Parents Uncorked. You’ll find that I’ll write in first person throughout this website, and that’s just because my personality is worth it.  You’ll see 🙂

By degree and training, I’m actually a high school level science teacher–but I haven’t been teaching for the past 8 years. Don’t get me wrong. I love working with kids and I find teaching truly rewarding in many ways. I have nothing but respect for all of my teacher friends, and I still work as a substitute teacher for exactly this reason. Despite that, you’d be hard-pressed to convince me to teach full time with the current state of education.

Like most modern moms, I also wear about 50 different hats at any given time. I’m a housewife, mom-taxi, maid, personal chef, event planner, personal shopper, tutor, screen-time manager, therapist, coach, etc.. Oh, and did I mention that I also somehow find the time to manage the business and marketing end of our things for our business?

And now you know how I ended up managing the research and content development aspects of Parents Uncorked… If nothing else, I should come out of this pretty educated, right?
